In 2015, the Arizona Department of Education signed into law a new high school graduation requirement. This law comes from House Bill 2064 stating that in order to receive a high school diploma in Arizona, students must pass a civics exam with at least 60% proficiency, which has now been updated and students need to score 70% or higher. Most students take the Civics exam in their 8th grade Social Studies class. Any student who has not yet passed or who has not yet taken the exam have been invited to a Canvas course to help them study. Students may also find the test--and answers--online with a Google search.
